indonesian embassy

indonesia has a very unique custom.

anytime any indonesian leaves indonesia, he/she need to pay fiscal fee. it is a kind of tax we need to pay beside the airport tax. anybody leaves indonesia would be considered as a "rich" people as they be able to buy airline ticket and will spend at least couple of days abroad. isnt that amazing?

last week, as i need to change my passport address (to avoid fiscal fee when i need to go back to singapore from indonesia), mom and i went to kedutaan besar republik indonesia (whoaaaa .. so proud to type this, hmmm am i that proud to be a part of indonesia? hehehe) -- aka indonesian embassy.

there's no bus line will take you to indonesian embassy. so you need to ride taxi to reach there, also when you leave the embassy. according to www.streetdirectory.com, the nearest bus stop is 700m away from the embassy. so take taxi is a good idea indeed :) unless you are a dedicated athelete. as my friend eka said, indonesian embassy is an elite embassy, for elite people, since you cannot reach it by bus. hehehe

the service was so quick.
on day 1, i need to queue for guest tag. then filled a changes form. next was go to the counter to handed my passport, copy of my employment pass and the changes form. they gave me a ticket for my passport collection for the next day.
on day 2, at 16.20pm, after got my guest tag, i just went to the collection counter to pick up my passport. now my passport got an extra sticker on the last blank page, with my singapore's address stated on the sticker.

my friend said that passport collection must be performed between 15-17pm, and never be late since the counter is very dedicated about the time to close. hehehe .. soooo indonesia :)

mom's visit

my mom has been visiting me for about a month.

she has visited spore for many times but she has not really feel the way people in spore live. she never ride mrt or bus while she were here before this. also she never went to some interesting places (except orchard road) or visit wet market.

during weekdays i left her all day so i always tried to ask her out for dinner. either in food courts (warteg) both in malls or hawkers in many-many different places, went to fine dining (once a week hehehe), walk through the river side in clark quay and enjoyed the bad indonesian cuisine, eat indian crispy prata in thomson road, briyani rice and milo dinosaurus in mustafa center, etc. so almost every night we went home late.

we spent weekends for places like china town, mustafa center, singapore botanical garden, chinese garden, esplanade, merlions and the malls around it including the fountain of wealth, spent a day in sentosa island, crossing the causeway to johor bahru just to enjoy cheap-cheap meals and stuffs and or course .. orchard road. ah .. she likes the 1 dollar "es potong" :)

btw she said that she never imagine she can cope with walking all the way in singapore. we walked from the esplanade to the clark quay mrt station as we walked through the riverside that evening. she even reached the 6th storey of the pagoda in chinese garden and she's so proud about it. here she cannot ask an ojek (motorcycle taxi) to take her if she's tired. also taxi fares is so high that make us think twice :)

she looks so happy. she said many times that she never saw singapore as she see it now and she never walked this far before.

exodus 20:12 says
"honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the LORD your God is giving you.. "

pretty fly

lalat ..

lalat ..
kecil ..
hitam ..
terbang cepat!
pergilah engkau lalat,
aku tetap sehat :)

tiny ..
black ..
flies so fast ..
mr fly, please go away,
(since) i want to keep myself healthy :)

its was a poem i ever performed in front of my kindergarten class sooooo many years back :) but as we look at fly even closer, actually most of flies are not that black.

this tiny guy found in singapore botanical garden about 2 weeks ago.

psalm 91:5 says :
you will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day ..

how much is your salary?

i think i must be a VERY straight forward kind of person.

today i told a friend that he's too skinny. he really sad when he hear what i said. he's really sorry for being skinny. i never saw a guy so sad like that because i tell him that he's skinny and he thanked me since i told him the truth. (btw the first time i saw him my frist impression is : he's too skinny! but never tell him since he's a very quiet person and i rare talked to him).

pheew ... maybe i was just too straight forward? i know that sometimes i lost my "basa-basi" (indo guys, whats basa-basi in english? diplomatics manner?). sometimes i just made people shocked because of my comments or thoughts or silly questions or even too honest answers.

another friend was shocked since i asked her "how much is your salary?" without any introduction when we simply talk about things that has nothing to do with job/salary. hmmm yea i was say out what's inside my mind. silly ah?

psalm 139 : 13 & 14 says:
for you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb.
i praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful, i know that full well.

sad story

today i heard of a sad story.

my colleague told me about a story of a guy who lived in spore and went to the usa for a new job. he left his wife in singapore for a year to settle before she can go with him. but when he came back, left his job in usa to went back for his wife, he just found that the wife already gone with another guy. it was really hurted him so he went back to usa, to leave bad memories, everything about singapore.

maybe this is a common stories these days. someone of you maybe knows even worse stories ever happened.

but i just realise one thing, that our life might not be perfect. some see getting into usa job market is a wow thing to achieve, but some other see it as a really bad idea. some see A as a -A from a different angle.

genesis 40 : 7 says :
so he asked Pharaoh's officials who were in custody with him in his master's house, "why are your faces so sad today?"

life is boring?

i never find my life as a boring one.

instead, i always need more more and more time to finish things. i always have things to do. always run out of time. always do more and more things.

vacation + shooting? absolutely!!
rr-kinaxis stuffs? always courious about it
sap-pp and its related things? always want to explore more
shopping? will love to do it if i have time .. and money ..wakakakakakakaka
work with my pictures? will love to do it all the time
spend relax time in *bucks? would be a lovely and luxury thing for me recently :)

life would be bored if i have nothing more to do :(

just realise that my life is too simple .. sigh ..
maybe thats why they said that im weird since i might be 'content' even when i were all alone.

ps. i think im not weird, i just try to make myself busy all the time :p

proverbs 19:23 says :
the fear of the LORD leads to life: then one rests content, untouched by trouble
